Elke Rubach
https://www.linkedin.com/in/elkerubach/Energetic, perceptive and direct, Elke Rubach stands apart in the industry for her willingness to tackle the tough issues and uncomfortable truths that, if left unaddressed, can create blind spots in a financial and wealth strategy. Her belief in the importance of financial planning was shaped early in life, when her father died at 50 years old with no plan or provisions for the wife and family he left behind. Inspired by her mother’s perseverance, Elke worked hard at school. She became fluent in English, Spanish, French and German and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in law, achieving the latter on scholarship at the London School of Economics with a focus on banking and finance. She went on to work as a lawyer with McCarthy Tetrault in London, UK, and Toronto, Canada. She founded Rubach Wealth in 2012.
Elke is a sought-after speaker on wealth management, estate planning and philanthropy. She is the founder of Fashion Heals for SickKids, which has raised more than $450,000 for pediatric cancer care and research since 2014. She also gives back with board and volunteer commitments, including the Professional Advisory Council for SickKids Foundation, the Investment Committee at the Office of the Public Guardian, the Advisory Board for Transpod Inc, and the development committee of Ronald McDonald House. As one observer puts it, just looking at her calendar makes most people tired.
OUR EVENT SPACE
Lil E Coffee Cafe
We are excited to host our meeting at the Lil E Coffee Cafe!
“Lil E Coffee Cafe is special because the owners are working to provide employment opportunities to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The cafe operates as a not-for-profit and is dedicated to starting a movement to encourage other employers to hire people with disabilities. Working as a graduation program, they strive to hire individuals who have not yet had paid work experience, helping the employees build skills over an 18-to-24-month-long period.
After graduating from the program, employees can move on to further employment opportunities, with help from the staff to find employees permanent work in their field of interest.” – Talia Ricci, CBC
